'Tips for Holiday Eating'

Our good friend, Dr. Rena LaFrance, the lead physician at the Pediatric Centre for Weight and Health at Edmonton's Misericordia Hospital in Canada has a great blog:  The Healthy Weight Doctor Blog.  If you have not yet visited the Healthy Weight Doctor blog, we know that you'll be a fan once you do.  Dr. LaFrance's blog is, as the name says, all about achieving and maintaining a healthy weight as a lifestyle choice and is very informative.

Dr. LaFrance's latest entry is very timely.  What is the blog post about?

"5 Tips for Holiday Eating"

The tips are simple and easy to follow - if you read the tips before you head out to the next holiday party (which Dr. LaFrance admits, she learned the hard way).

We are not going to post the entire entry here (we want you to go visit the Healthy Weight Doctor Blog) but here is an appetizer, if you will:

Don’t drink your calories. An oldie but a goody, I know. However if I had followed this rule, I would have shaved off at least 500 calories by not having the soft drinks and the glass of wine. This is huge because drinking a large amount does not stop you from eating a large amount.
Pretty cool, huh?

Like we said, for more great ideas on healthy weight and more, go visit her blog.
